Renowned for its durability and ability to be resoled repeatedly, Goodyear-welt construction involves stitching a welt—a strip of leather—around the shoe's perimeter, creating a cavity. After filling the cavity with the shank and cork, the sole is attached, providing strength and water resistance. This construction method results in shoes that are not only long-lasting but also easily repairable, making them a timeless investment in quality craftsmanship.

The Floyd Last is a modified version of the Leo and shares many of the same features: a moderate arch, heel control, medial support, and forefront freedom. In contrast to its progeniture, the Floyd last features a taller, more voluminous toe box, providing a classic Americana workwear look.

"These are some of most well constructed boots I've owned. The quality is Top-Notch, and they look darn good as well."
"I live where we've a real winter and love the traction with these boots. Snow and ice and I feel secure. They look outstanding, the craftsmanship is excellent, and the break-in isn't bad at all. Literally everything you'd want in a heritage boot and I can go from snowblowing the drive to work without having to change boots. Sizing, yeah, follow their advice. They're roomy in the toe box regardless, and that can take a moment for adjusting your expectations of feel. I went a half-size down and this isn't a dress boot or sneaker. There is space. Getting picky, I changed out the cloth laces for some leather as I think that's a better choice for weather exposure. They give you an extra pair, and I'd love to see Grant Stone make the second a leather pair for the option. I did way too much research making this choice and they're exactly as expected, which is a damn good boot."
"Great fit, fantastic materials, a little on the heavy side but still my favorite boot currently. Quite a stunning color in person."
"I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure on width sizing. All my work boots are double EEs, well except for another brand known as JK-those are a triple E. I went with a single E in the brass boot and am very happy with the fit. Af first I was concerned that it was borderline too snug but the more I wear the boot the more the leather kind of forms around my feet making these boots quite comfortable to wear. This was the most expensive boot purchase I have ever made and I do not regret spending a single cent. Everything about this experience is elevated. The shipping was fast, that tells me they care about getting product to us ASAP, the presentation was beautiful. They came in a sturdy box within a box, packed with actual cloth that has finished edges, each boot came in it’s own boot bag and there was a smaller bag included of accessories such as additional laces and a bottle opener shaped like a shoe horn. The boots are very handsome. Nothing out of place or wonky in their construction. Very versatile to wear for different levels of occasion. Dressed up, dressed down. They got it."
"I recently picked up these boots during the Black Friday sale and have been really impressed! The moc toe adds a nice, classic touch, and the slimmer profile makes them feel more versatile than Red Wings. They work equally well with business casual outfits as they do with more relaxed looks. I got them in Earth, which looks like is a deep dark espresso once on foot. The fit is spot on, true to size for myself, and comparable to other goodyear welted boots I own; I typically wear a 6D. I may consider a slightly larger width if I am considering adding an insert for cushioning. The toe box is roomier in height, which is great for comfort, while the sides stay snug, especially with my Darn Tough midweight cushioned socks or other similarly thicker pairs of wool socks. I’ve worn these daily for a couple of weeks, and they feel like they’ve broken in already. The lugsole gives great traction on snow and other surfaces, but I’ve noticed a squeak on tiled floors, especially after stepping in water. They’re a bit heavy and add some height, but overall, quite happy with them."
"Beautiful boots - Very high quality craftsmanship - Excellent packaging - Hyper comfortable right out of the box (no break-in required) - 2 boot bags included is a very nice amenity"
"I received these 6 days ago but have already put a good amount of mileage on them. I think I have hiked about 70,000 steps in these so far. They are breaking in nicely but have a ways to go. My first order of 10. 5 EEE was too big, but customer service was fast, and I was able to return them and receive the proper size of 9. 5 EEE, which fit perfectly. My running shoe size is normally 11. The EEE will make it quite large, so beware. You may have to size down an entire size or, in my case, a size and a half if you want the extra-wide version. The boots are on the heavy side and very tough. You can wear them just about anywhere. The waxed leather doesn't need to be babied. Wear them in town, on rugged rocks, in the forest, or in a dirty urban area. They are excellent armor for the feet and have a better feel than more common commercial footwear, although you may get some blisters if you wear them hard when they are new out of the box. That is normal."
"I was on the fence about these boots, specifically the waxed leather. But I have to say after receiving them I love the leather. They are also very comfortable and supportive for my feet. I would love to see the waxed leather in other colors and also for the Field boot. Great boots and will definitely be buying more in the future."
"My Brass Boot fits very well! I dropped down 1/2 size from brannock and that was perfect! Well done Grant Stone!"
