Renowned for its durability and ability to be resoled repeatedly, Goodyear-welt construction involves stitching a welt—a strip of leather—around the shoe's perimeter, creating a cavity. After filling the cavity with the shank and cork, the sole is attached, providing strength and water resistance. This construction method results in shoes that are not only long-lasting but also easily repairable, making them a timeless investment in quality craftsmanship.

The Floyd Last is a modified version of the Leo and shares many of the same features: a moderate arch, heel control, medial support, and forefront freedom. In contrast to its progeniture, the Floyd last features a taller, more voluminous toe box, providing a classic Americana workwear look.

"I catch myself looking at these boots even when I’m not wearing them, all broken in and the fit is excellent!"
"Per usual Grant Stone’s quality, packaging, and customer service is excellent as expected. Now lets get to these boots… The photos on the website make the boots look a lot paler colored than they are in reality. These boots are vibrant, and demand attention from anyone who sees them. The leather is soft, and smooth while still thick, and robust. If you were to get stranded on a desert island, and these were the boots on your feet. . worry not, you flag down a rescue plane with these vibrant brass boots. They are aging beautifully , but I doubt they will ever become dull, and brown like most. I love these boots, I wear these a lot , they are favs in the rotation."
"What great quality boots. Not PNW american made, but youd never be able to tell. If you dont mind not having the ‘made in America’ tag, Grant Stone is a great option"
"Amazing boots! I run an 8. 5D Brannock and I found the 7. 5D fits better than 8, especially since these seem to run a bit long."
"First off, Grant Stone customer service was excellent helping me to find the perfect size. The Brass boot in Tan Essex is a patina monster. Just a few days of wearing and the boot has already developed and changed in color. Can’t wait to see what these look like in a year. I also truly appreciate the softness of the lug sole. I’ve always gravitated to wedge soles because of the extra softness, but that is not necessary with these. Cheers to Grant Stone for making a wonderful product!"
"Awesome customer service with high qaulity boot craftsmanship. Will be purchasing more in the future."
"Incredible boots as always. This is my 7th or 8th pair of Grant Stone boots and they never disappoint. The leather is beautiful and the build quality is phenomenal. There isn’t a stitch out of place. I will continue to be a Grant Stone customer for as long as they’re around!"
"everything is perfect"
"The reviews I read before buying were accurate. No need for break in. Comfortable out of the box. No problem with shipping to the Philippines too."
"The Brass Boot in Essex is exceptionally well made and a great value. As someone who has owned dozens of top tier boots from Crockett & Jones, Alden, Tricker's, Whites, and Wesco, these easily match the quality at a great price point. I had to return mine due to sizing, as I am still trying to dial in my Grant Stone sizing in their various lasts, but this had nothing to do with the quality. Also the Essex leather is beautiful and I am sure will patina nicely"
