The Garrison boot is our rendition of the classic service boot. Developing out of WWI's trench warfare, the service boot's history has been one of defense. Named after the military fortification and the guards charged with its protection, the Garrison boot conjures up imagery of security, safety, and refuge. Moreover, the name itself ultimately derives from the Germanic word meaning 'to ward off.' The Garrison boot is just that – stable, unyielding protection for your feet.

Featuring a perforated cap toe and backstay that hugs the heel counter, the Garrison boot is our first all-eyelet boot. Further drawing on its military history, we paired the Garrison boot with a lug outsole to offer more robust traction. Combining these elements produces a stylish yet utilitarian boot.

Garrison Boot Color #8 Chromexcel

Made with

Goodyear-welt Construction

Renowned for its durability and ability to be resoled repeatedly, Goodyear-welt construction involves stitching a welt—a strip of leather—around the shoe's perimeter, creating a cavity. After filling the cavity with the shank and cork, the sole is attached, providing strength and water resistance. This construction method results in shoes that are not only long-lasting but also easily repairable, making them a timeless investment in quality craftsmanship.

Our Leo Last

Derived from our experience fitting and developing various orthopedic-shaped lasts designed for specific foot shapes, the Leo features a moderate arch, heel control, medial support, and forefront freedom. It embodies a traditional welted shoe shape while prioritizing all-day support and comfort.

Our mission

Providing Excellent Service

Our priority has been putting customers in shoes that properly fit them and standing by our amazing products. Many customers have found they have been wearing an incorrect size for years. This has been lost in the market today. We offer the majority of our footwear in D, E, and EEE widths to provide well-fitting footwear.

We encourage customers to ask our team for assistance to ensure the best fit.

Looking sharp!

"This is my third pair of Garrison boots and they are great. Perfect fit for my high instep feet, lovely build and leather. I am sure they will develop a nice patina. Already after a few wears they show quite a bit of patina."

Beautiful pair of boots

"Beautiful mix of burgundy and brown. The boots have a mix of dressy due to the shape with also casual because of the lug soles. I love the brass eyelets and the slender look. The packaging was beautiful, the shoe box is very hefty and the shoe bags are high quality & soft. This is my first pair of boots and I'm hooked now. Strangely, both of the outside sides of both shoes came with mildly noticeable creasing on the upper part of the shaft (about where the ankle sits), but they get covered up by pants when actually wearing them. I'm a 9. 5D in Brannock, tried a 9D, but ended up with an 8. 5D. An 8. 5E would have been best, but they were out of stock. A shoe stretcher got me 90% of the way there."

Garrison Boot Color #8 - One of Grant Stone’s Best

"I believe the Grant Stone boot is the best boot that Grant Stone makes. The small hardware, all-eyelet/no speed hooks, and perforated cap-toe makes the boot pop for dressing up your outfit and taking it to the next level. The lug soles make the boot capable for walking everywhere you want to go, without having to worry too much about slick spots or asphalt. The color #8 is just phenomenal, and is second place right behind the Black Bison. This boot has a place in your wardrobe!"

"Highest quality boot I've ever owned. Will be buying more. The value for cost is top notch."

Hit the CXL Lottery!

"These CXL #8 Garrison Boots are my first pair of Grant Stones, and I’m blown away. The leather and build quality are flawless, all high quality materials and amazing attention to detail, down to the shoe bags and the box! Top notch customer service to match too. Fit is on point, I’m 11. 5D on the Brannock device, and 11D fit like a dream straight out of the box and I see them breaking in beautifully. Most definitely getting more Grant Stones in the future. Keep up the great work!"

Zahin R. (5/5)

Great pair of boots.

"Hands down one of the best pair of boots I own. So happy with my purchase. I've received many compliments on how nice they look."

Paul C. (5/5)

Versatile boot, can be dressed up, color is super rich!

"Gorgeous color right out of the box. As with my other 4 pairs of Grant Stones, the leather is very supple and smells amazing. Fit is perfect. These are a little dressier in my opinion than the Diesels, but that's what I was going for with these Wore them with a nice jacket and sweater last night to a Christmas party and got a ton of compliments."

Brice P. (5/5)

My first American boots

"I received the Harrison Boot Chromexcel #8. My foot length according to Brannock is 12. 5, width between B and C. According to the recommendations, I chose size 12D. My first impression of the boots is that they are big. I tried on a comfortable feeling. I walked around, but my boots were big. But the feeling is very comfortable, the foot feels good, the heel does not slip, these are my first American boots, apparently I am used to narrower European shoes. I tried on thicker socks and they were great. Over the next few days I wore them for a couple of hours at a time. and each time the feeling became more and more comfortable, nothing chafed anywhere, everything was in perfect order. The build quality is excellent in my opinion. These boots are based on the military boots of the First World War and they are really so strong and reliable that you can go to war in them. God forbid, of course. They look just like the photos on the website, powerful and beautiful in my opinion. Like all Goodyear Welted shoes, they require breaking in. The leather is beautiful and very durable. And so the overall impression is beautiful and very durable. That's what I wanted. Grand Stone thank you!"

Dmitry R. (5/5)
