We find ourselves wearing this shoe year-round—sockless with shorts/lightweight fabrics in the summer and with wool socks and trousers through the winter. Combining a forgiving upper leather and soft insole/outsole tannage, the Traveler Penny strikes the perfect balance of structure and support.
This Italian Baby Calf is a vegetable-tanned leather with a higher sheen. It is very transparent, which allows profound highs and lows. It also means that any natural traits, such as growth marks, are visible. These should not be considered defects but merely the article's natural base. The raw character and high-shine finish are the beauty of this particular vegetable tannage.
