Free Exchange on Domestic Orders

The Elias Side-Zip boot offers a clean, smart silhouette while being a true workhorse. It features a blend of vintage motorcycle and western boot elements, providing protection from the taller shaft with the added convenience of a zipper. The zipper allows for a narrower shaft, making the boot easy to wear with most pant cuts. The clean, unadorned profile transitions seamlessly from business casual attire to your favorite pair of denim.

The result of a complex, 28-day tanning process, Horween’s Chromexcel is a highly durable and supple, combination-tanned leather hot-stuffed with natural oils and waxes. The Chicago-based tannery has been producing Chromexcel since 1913. It is prized for its soft hand-feel, strong pull-up, and ability to develop a unique patina over years of wear.

Made with

Goodyear-welt Construction

Renowned for its durability and ability to be resoled repeatedly, Goodyear-welt construction involves stitching a welt—a strip of leather—around the shoe's perimeter, creating a cavity. After filling the cavity with the shank and cork, the sole is attached, providing strength and water resistance. This construction method results in shoes that are not only long-lasting but also easily repairable, making them a timeless investment in quality craftsmanship.

Built on the

Sawyer Last

The Sawyer last offers exceptional all-day comfort and support. It provides significant arch support, excellent heel control, and ample forefoot freedom. While most customers wear half size down, those with high insteps typically wear their average shoe size.

Our mission

Providing Excellent Service

Our priority has been putting customers in shoes that properly fit them and standing by our amazing products. Many customers have found they have been wearing an incorrect size for years. This has been lost in the market today. We offer the majority of our footwear in D, E, and EEE widths to provide well-fitting footwear.

We encourage customers to ask our team for assistance to ensure the best fit.

Dress boot with. Roper look

"The boots are exceptionally constructed the cxl clicking is great with the vamp grain fairly consistent. The breakin was tight the first day but each day the boots softened and became more flexible. The leather is thick and the outsoles are durable. The zipper is sturdy and easy to zip leaving the wearer with a roper boot aesthetic with slacks that is great!"

Nothing comes close at the price point

"I’m a huge fan of western boots and also a fan of service boots and the many fine leather options and that rabbit hole you can go down. This is the only boot that you can find for less than $500 that bridges the gap. I’d say the closest thing is actually the Thursday Boot western lineup but obviously those leather choices aren’t as nice and the sizing there is egregiously all over the place. Tecovas has zip boots and ropers that I love but the quality of their smooth leathers are pretty average. Both don’t have the top tier construction of Grant Stone (although I still think they’re both still great and easily enough for my needs but it’s worth noting). The rest of the western boot manufacturers don’t really focus or disclose the leather source- it’s just not a part of that culture. Beyond value, this is a great boot. It’s surprisingly comfortable for barely being broken in yet so that’s good to know that this is going get even better. The design is awesome and it provided a bit more arch support than what I was expecting which is a big plus for me. I was a little unsure with sizing since I saw a lot of conflicting opinions on the internet so I just went with the Grant Stone recommendation- which I’ve actually been burned on before. I’m a 10. 5D brannock so I went with the 10. I fit 10D or 9. 5E in Leo or 9. 5 in Floyd. The 10 for this was a perfect fit. A few notes on fit: fitting for a zip/pull western boot is going to be a little different from a standard lace up boot. I got the Dune Chromexel and this boot was STIFF on arrival which I’d imagine would complicate fit for some people. When fitting- you want this to be pretty firm, when you pull your foot into the boot there should be a thud and a WHOOSH of air. You really need the firm fit to start because you want have laces to help once the leather loosens and stretches a little. Honestly with how stiff the leather was I had a pretty dang tough time even getting the boot on- but that’s a process I’m used to with brand new western boots. They stretch FAST. HOWEVER- it shouldn’t be painful, just really firm"

Would definitely buy again

"Very good boot for this price point. The fit is a bit narrower than expected but not a problem, is stretching appropriately. Nice shape to the upper, very easy to put on and take off after the first few wears. All around a very sharp looking boot that works from faded jeans to chinos, and even some dressier pants."

Greatest side zip boot

"This is my 15th pair of GS’s. Yes. I’m a fanboy for sure. I’ve been eying these since they came out. The more I looked at them the better they looked and I had to get them. I normally wear a 9D in the Leo last and 8. 5D in the Floyd last, 10D on the Campus last but could’ve went to a 9. 5D, then Alexander’s last in 9E and 9. 5D on. My first choice was 9D in these and I could not get my foot into the boots and when I did I had to put a plastic bag over my feet and they were so hard to get on. I ordered 9. 5D and they fit perfectly. It’s snug like a handshake. Arch support is there more so than any other GS footwear. These are a cross between engineer boots and cowboy boots. Looks perfect with selvedge denim jeans from N&F in their TG fit. I love the way these look even though I can tell I didn’t hit the cxl lottery but that’s ok. I am 100% happy with these. It took some tries to get on but I didn’t need to resort to a trash bag. I simply love the style. I’ve never had a 270 degree welt and the heel is nice."

Great New Style from GS

"I’m really loving this new style from Grant Stone. Like I usually do for non-laced boots, I ordered a half size down from my laced-boots size and the fit is very good. The construction is great and the zippers seem robust. The look of these to me is just the right amounts of casual and dress."

Tony P. (5/5)

One sexy boot

"These would make my 15th pair of GS’s over the course of 3 almost 4yrs but my first and only side zip boots. I had to go 1/2 size up from my Leo lasted size. My first pair was in a 9D as my Leo lasted size however, I could not get my feet into them. I was able to get the 9D’s on by putting my foot into a plastic bag. I did not have to do that with the 9. 5D but due to the shape of the toe, it feels like the front of the boot sticks out a little too far. This is a happy medium between a cowboy boot and an engineer boot. I was concerned with the zippers however, they are robust and should last a long time. At least I hope it will. Looks great with selvedge denim jeans. The rubber is somewhat soft so that’s nice. Not as hard as the Dune Cxl micro studded sole even though these also have a micro studded sole. It would be awesome if these came in some kind of shell cordovan. I’d buy it for sure. These are 270 degree welt so the back of the boot is pretty tight and I love the contracting welt. My only issue is that these will likely get dirty easily and stain easily like my Diesel’s did but that’s ok because I appreciate patina. These are a work of art just like GS’s other boots with the exception of the Brass, Baroda, and Field Boot."

Side Zip Boot is a winner so far!

"I have been wearing the new Side Zip Boot and am liking the fit much better as the boot breaks in. I went a 1/2 size down from Brannock and it seems to be the right fit. It does offer more arch support than the average boot. I am interested to see how these will patina over time. There was a bit of pinching at the top of the does in the first few wears, but that went away rather quickly as the leather began to soften."

Great easy boots

"Stunners. Only wish came on more width options. Great leather and quality. Will go with everything forever."
